curious george and the birthday party

It was a celebration for Lily’s 4th birthday.  Some of her favorite friends came, we had a bounce house and junk food along with delicious cupcakes.  But what took the party to the next level was Sam’s enthusiastic portrayal of the Man in the Yellow Hat from Curious George.  He was a huge hit with the young and old!

Lily was thrilled to have her friends and cousins over–the playing did not stop until it had to.  Everyone slept well that night!

its your birthday!

oh lily!  you are 4 years old!  what a girl.  truly.  you are an ever-present joy to us and just growing up so (too) fast!  this year we are having a “real” birthday party but first we celebrated as a family with presents, some donuts for breakfast, and a milkshake at lunch.  oh-and don’t forget the princesses…they were there, too!

Easter…and Dada Was Back!

since we are trying to find a house in pittsburgh, sam was traveling in april but made it home for easter.  of course we dyed easter eggs, ate candy, hunted for those eggs-both at home and at gramma and grampa’s house, and ate ham.  ollie definitely didn’t get the hunting part of the day but lily did.

San Antonio Hike–Goodbye Friends!

we made some good friends in California.  this group we met way back in the beginning and the kids are so close in age (april birthdays)…its neat to get together and see how they are so alike in behavior.
this was our last chance to have a playmate and we decided to hike rancho san antonio–something we did a few times before.  a mile out to the farm and a mile back.  this time there was lots of exploring on their own.  we will miss maureen and rachel, james, matthew and sarah, and penelope, mason and tara.
