B to the Ball

The tiny whiz of a girl got to dribble and shoot with a new gang tonight. She came home flushed with excitement!  Hope I g for with number 30 or 23, she got 8.  That didn’t slow her down.  Dreaming of next week…

This Girl Loves a MiMi

While I read, I could hear the kids play. Ollie and Lily came downstairs.

Oh-where’s Em?

I dunno…downstairs with Dad?

Ollie checked-nope.

They ran outside to check. I went upstairs.

Emmy’s door was closed and this is what I found when I peeked in:

Game On!

Tomorrow the Dynamos and Pirates take to the fields of Pine Park to win, win, win (or just figure out which way to their goal or how to hit a ball).  Excitement and energy is running high here.  Ollie has his clothes laid out (complete in body shape…like the hat at the top and socks at the bottom). He even included his brand new cup which is fascinating to him. He wanted to sleep in it tonight…

Lily will be on the court Tuesday evening as a member of the Demon Deacons (who comes up with these names?!).  She plays the Cavs in her first game๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Ollie was king of nature camp. He was a little nervous to go but once we got there he eased into the group. Kids introduced themselves with (their name) (animal name). Ollie said he could be Ollie Octopus. Or Ollie Owl. All three teachers commented on how he was such a smart guy, knew his stuff, just totally on the ball. His smile was a mile wide when I picked him up and he can’t wait to go tomorrow!

Em got a haircut. She looks like a little doll baby.   She worried that swimming would mess it up but Lily, with great kindness, offered to do her hair when they got out. Such sweetness!

Mr. Oliver and I played about 7,000 steps worth of badminton today.  He is such an athlete and such a great cheerleader. The number of times he said an encouraging word…I lost count. Even though he could have watched after dinner, he chose to help clear the table and empty the dishwasher so we could play more quickly. It was so fun to spend time with him and admire his developing skill.  We may have to check out tennis lessons๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽพ

Thunder and Lightning

While storms raged outside today, we built a fortress of pillows and watched Zootopia.  Everyone would give it two thumbs up and Ollie was giggling the entire time.  Two scary parts had Emmy hiding her eyes but overall, a good afternoon activity.

The rain kept us from being outside, running out energy but everyone is still already asleep now. Basketball game will be watched tomorrow so-shush-don’t tell us what happens๐Ÿ™‰๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿต๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€

Time to snooze (since a different storm plus two different kids woke us last night)!

Last Weekย

Only two more days of school for the year. We were outside all afternoon soaking in the lovely weather. Lunched outside. Crafted outside. Went sledding outside (Emmy started scooting down the small hill with the sled and it worked!). Only a few bandaids needed through the day. Worn out by it all. Happy it is summertime!
