Happy Mothers Day

i had a wonderful day thanks to the 3Wees, Gramma Lissa and Sam.  In the morning I was greeted with coffee, a card, and lots of hugs and kisses. There was a surprise T shirt proclaiming my Best Mom status. Time to clean out closets, fold and put away all clothes. Grocery shop by myself. I know those last two don’t seem very Mothers Day-ish but I get great satisfaction for doing all of those things…especially with no distractions. In the afternoon there was trampolining and reading quietly. Dinner was delicious and so was dessert. Thank you for really making it a day to remember, Favorites!

Date Night!

we are going out to celebrate Sam’s birthday.  Lily has laid out my outfit with shoes, jewelry and make up to use.  😘🎂🎉🎈❤️🌟🐙

At it Again

Another round of inspiration for yogurt making.  I am trying g a new recipe and a new tool: a heating pad.  I am currently waiting for the milk to cool to the right temperature to add the starter to it and then I hope to wake with a nice jar of yogurt goodness to enjoy!

Soccer Shots

For two weeks soccer has been cancelled due to rain.  Not so today!  Bright sunshine and blazing temperatures sent these soccer players running for the water.  These kids never slow down and so when we got home, we headed out to jump and filled up the baby pool with some water to keep cool.  Bedtime has not been as challenging since the trampoline came to town!

Deep Space

We FINALLY finished reading The Odyssey this morning.  I was tempted to just shelve it because it was a book as long as eternity.  It was snowing when we started; we were sipping hot chocolate, snuggling under blankets and now we are no longer able to glimpse cars in the backyard while the apple tree blossoms are about to burst open.  We look on with flip-flops.  But the kids wouldn’t let me stop.  Just, whew, I’m glad I’m through it.  Lily had some great questions and insight as the book wrapped up; she wanted to understand why Odysseus lied all the time.  I have to say, I have the same questions.  He was a person who conquered and survived against all odds, never losing hope or sight of his goal for 20 odd years but he didn’t have impeccable behavior.  He lied to everyone by the end, even those he treasured most in the world.

But…onward!  We are going deep space to wind up our official first year.  Planets, the moon, constellations and lots of art and science will be happening here until I can’t make anyone do anything more.  Both older kids are looking forward to lots of messy science over the summer and I bet I can get Lily to sit down to cover some math especially if I tempt her with a popsicle or lemonade.
